AMERICAN VANGUARD CORP is a holding company that operates through its principal subsidiaries to develop, manufacture and market chemical, biological and biorational solutions for agricultural, commercial and consumer uses. It synthesizes and formulates technical-grade active ingredients and end-use products — including insecticides, fungicides, herbicides, soil health and plant nutrition products, molluscicides, growth regulators, soil fumigants, microbial biorationals and closed delivery systems — and provides custom manufacturing, licensing and distribution services. The company reports a single operating segment and conducts activities through domestic and international subsidiaries such as AMVAC, GemChem, Envance, TyraTech, OHP, AMVAC BV, AgriCenter and Agrinos. Products are sold in the U.S. primarily through national distributors, buying groups and co‑operatives and internationally via sales offices, wholly owned distributors and local agents across Central America, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, India and other territories.
