Tennessee Valley Authority
Business
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) is a federal corporate agency that operates the nation's largest public power system, generating and distributing electricity to approximately 10 million people across a seven-state region in the southeastern United States. TVA supplies power primarily through wholesale contracts with 153 local power company customers (municipalities and cooperatives) that resell to retail customers, as well as to large industrial and federal customers. TVA operates a diverse generation portfolio including nuclear, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric, and renewable resources, along with transmission infrastructure and integrated river management for flood control, navigation, water supply, and recreation.
