Recently Adopted Accounting Pronouncements
In November 2023, the FASB issued ASU No. 2023-07, “Segment Reporting (Topic 280): Improvements to Reportable Segment Disclosures,” which requires disclosure of incremental segment information on an annual and interim basis. The amendments also require companies with a single reportable segment to provide all disclosures required by this amendment and all existing segment disclosures in ASC 280, “Segment Reporting.” The amendments are effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2023, and interim periods beginning after December 15, 2024. We adopted this standard as of December 31, 2024. The adoption of the standard did not have a material impact on our consolidated financial statements and only impacted our disclosures. See Note 16. Operating Segments and Geographic Information for disclosures related to the adoption of this standard.
In December 2023, the FASB issued ASU No. 2023-09, “Income Taxes (Topic 740): Improvements to Income Tax Disclosures,” (“ASU No. 2023-09”) to expand the disclosure requirements for income taxes, specifically related to the rate reconciliation and income taxes paid. The updated guidance is effective for public companies for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2024 and early adoption is permitted. We adopted this standard as of December 31, 2025. The adoption of the standard did not have a material impact on our consolidated financial statements and only impacted our disclosures. See Note 14. In November 2024, the FASB issued ASU No. 2024-03, “Income Statement - Reporting Comprehensive Income - Expense Disaggregation Disclosures (Subtopic 220-40): Disaggregation of Income Statement Expenses,” which requires public companies to disclose, in interim and annual reporting periods, additional information about certain expenses in the financial statements. The updated guidance is effective for public companies for fiscal periods beginning after December 15, 2026, and interim reporting periods beginning after December 15, 2027. Early adoption is permitted. We are currently evaluating the impact of this standard on our consolidated financial statements.
In July 2025, the FASB issued ASU No. 2025-05, “Financial Instruments - Credit Losses (Topic 326): Measurement of Credit Losses for Accounts Receivable and Contract Assets,” to introduce a practical expedient for the application of the current expected credit loss model to current accounts receivable and contract assets. The updated guidance is effective for public companies for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2025 and early adoption is permitted. We are currently evaluating the impact of this standard on our consolidated financial statements.
In September 2025, the FASB issued ASU No. 2025-06, “Targeted Improvements to the Accounting for Internal-Use Software.” The updated guidance is effective for public companies for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2027 and early adoption is permitted. Watch for standards that affect a company's core operations — for example, revenue recognition changes for software companies or lease accounting changes for retailers with large store footprints. The transition method chosen (full retrospective versus modified retrospective) affects comparability with prior periods. Companies that delay adoption to the latest permitted date may be struggling with implementation complexity.
