15. Segment Information
Tivic Health is a health tech company focused on bioelectronic medicine. Bioelectronic medicine is a branch of the global neuromodulation market that treats disease and conditions by modulating the electrical signals carried along various nerve pathways. Revenue is derived from sales of the Company's first commercial product, ClearUp. The Company manages the business activities as a operating segment. Tivic's is the Chief Operating Decision Maker ("CODM"). The CODM utilizes the Company's long-term plan, which includes product development roadmaps and long-term financial models, as key input to resource allocation. The CODM makes decisions on resource allocation, assesses performance of the business, and monitors budget versus actual results using factors such as gross margin, operating expenses, loss from operations and net loss.
Significant expenses within loss from operations, as well as within net loss, include costs of revenue, research and development, selling and marketing and general and administrative expenses, which are each separately presented on the Company's Statements of Operations. Other segment items within net loss include interest income.
During the years ended December 31, 2024 and 2023, all revenue is domestic revenue. To-date we have not sold our product outside of the United States.
