Commitments
In December 2023, we entered into a contract with Microsoft for cloud services from February 2024 through January 2027. Under the terms of the contract we committed to spend €28.5 million. If we do not meet our commitment by the end of the term, we will be required to pay the difference. As of December 31, 2025, we have spent €14.9 million of our commitment.
In July 2024, we entered into a new contract with AWS for cloud services, in which we committed to spend $59.7 million, $77.6 million and $93.0 million in contract years one, two and three, respectively, for a total commitment of $230.3 million from August 2024 to July 2027. As of December 31, 2025, we have met our first year commitment and we have spent $31.3 million of our second year commitment.
Letters of Credit
At December 31, 2025, we had $5.7 million of standby letters of credit related to our grant agreements with the State of Maryland and our operating leases. Collateral for $5.5 million of our letters of credit was classified as restricted cash in cash and cash equivalents.

Key signals: litigation reserves and disclosed loss ranges quantify management's estimate of legal exposure, but unquantified "reasonably possible" losses often represent the larger risk. Watch for changes in language around pending cases — shifts from "remote" to "reasonably possible" or increases in estimated loss ranges signal deteriorating outcomes. Unconditional purchase obligations and take-or-pay contracts create fixed cost structures that reduce operational flexibility. Guarantee arrangements for subsidiaries or joint ventures can create cascading obligations. Compare the total commitment schedule against projected free cash flow to assess whether the company can meet its obligations without additional financing.
